The M.Sc. in Finance offers the opportunity to deepen your knowledge in finance. It is intended for students with an undergraduate degree in business, economics, management or related areas - especially with an international degree or international orientation - who have a strong interest in finance and wish to pursue a career in this area.

The programme is designed to individually respond to the preferences and priorities of students in the area of Finance in the best possible way. You individually select modules from the Finance and Accounting curriculum. Besides core Finance and Accounting topics, you have the opportunity to complement your focus in this area by further electives in innovative areas of digital, behavioural and sustainable finance. The study programme is rounded off by electives from a variety of modules in areas such as Economics, Management and Philosophy.

With the Finance programme, you expand your understanding of business and economics gained from your Bachelor‘s programme with a comprehensive view on financial topics.

How does the financial management of a company work? How should a company make its strategic investment decisions? How can risks be identified, assessed and managed? How can the value of a company or its assets be determined? What should be considered when setting up and managing a portfolio of securities? What impact does digital transformation have on financial decisions and how can digital tools support the decisionmaking? What role does psychology play in financial decisions? How can sustainability be successfully integrated into the financial system? These are just some of the questions
your studies involve.

You gain a deep understanding of tools and concepts for financial decision-making. All courses of the degree programme are held in English. You get the opportunity to learn and work with an international group of students. You learn to master the challenges of iintercultural teams and to uniquely benefit from them: Diversity of perspectives, increased creativity and innovation, improved communication skills, to name just a few.

The degree gives you a high level of freedom and flexibility to focus on the topics you consider exciting. With a quantitatively oriented Master of Science (MSc) degree, countless career paths are open to you, whether in industry or in research. You can take up the Master‘s programme if you have completed a university degree in the area of business, management, economics or related areas. In addition, proof of English language skills is required.
